Review - Sunshine Soup - Jo Parfitt
Sunshine Soup - nourishing the global soul by Jo Parfitt
Publisher: Summertime Publishing
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Even though it is set mainly in a location where I have never been before (Dubai), as an expat woman myself I thoroughly enjoyed it. The story opens with Maya preparing herself and her family to move from England to Dubai, as her husband has accepted a position there. She is a woman who is leaving behind a business that she has loved being a part of - although she does maintain a link with it, in the sense that she starts to write a blog. Maya is horrified when she finds out that she cannot work in Dubai. We follow her journey on how she gets over this hurdle. Another lady, Barb, an American is also central to the story. There are other expat women who are in the story as well. Everyone has a different story, and a unique experience in relation to their life in Dubai.
Another bonus is the inclusion of many of the recipes that are included in the book. Exotic location + food + expat life makes this a great book. I found that I couldn't put it down, I wanted to know what was going to happen to the ladies.
